Bruce Willis confirmed that he will shoot a cameo for “The Expendables” in an interview with MTV. Willis will soon join Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger to shoot a very special scene for the action movie.
He confirmed that the scene will involved himself, Arnold and Sly together on camera:
“That’s the concept. That’s the plan. I haven’t united with them. I’m waiting for a call from Sly about when we’re going to try and make that happen,” Willis explained. “I don’t know anything about [my character] yet, haven’t seen any pages yet,” he said. “But I’m excited about it. I want to send best wishes to Sly, and the Governor of California, my old pal Arnold.”
So, Bruce Willis joins massive cast of action heroes such as Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Steve Austin, Terry Crews, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Danny Trejo, Charisma Carpenter, Curtis Jackson, Brittany Murphy and David Zayas.
“The Expendables,” written and directed by Sylvester Stallone, is about a team of mercenaries led by Barney Ross (Stallone). The team consists of Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Bao (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), and Emanuel (Mickey Rourke), who head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator.
“The Expendables” is set to release on April 23rd, 2010.
It’s convention time again, and we… wait, what? Since when do we have big science fiction/comic cons in this area in the summer? Since this weekend, when the annual MegaCon convention kicks off their new Mini-MegaCon August 22nd and 23rd at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. The Mini-MegaCon will be roughly half as large as their regular con, which attracted 32,000 fans last March, but still will bring plenty of guest stars and pop culture memories.
Originally “Twilight” stars Peter Facinelli, Rachelle Lefevre and Michael Welch were set to headline but were forced to cancel due to conflicts with the new movie’s shooting schedule. Which is probably just as well since the remaining guests might have staked them. “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” stars Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia), Emma Caufield (Anya), Amber Benson (Tara) and Adam Busch (Warren) will be there, along with Dorian Gregory (“Charmed”), Sylvester McCoy (the seventh “Doctor Who”), Lisa Loring and Felix Silva (Wednesday and Cousin Itt from “The Addams Family”), Arne Starr (“Star Trek,” “Mad Men”), Vic Mignogna (Full Metal Alchemist), Tarah Paige (“Bring It On 3), and wrestling stars Jackie Haas, “Ariel”, Terri Runnels, SoCal Val and Sean Waltman.
For comics fans there will be over 120 writers and artists from your favorite books and webcomics, such as Drew Geraci (“Wildcats,” “Final Crisis,” “Green Lantern Corps”), Dick Giordano (“Batman,” “Green Lantern/Green Arrow”), Greg Horn (“Elektra,” “Emma Frost”), Casey Jones (“Avengers,” “New Warriors”), Phil Noto (“Jonah Hex,” “Superman/Supergirl”) and many more.
When you’ve gotten your fill of autographs and pictures, you’ll still have the massive dealer room full of every pop culture item you can imagine (or afford), plus panels, weekend-long gaming of all sorts, anime events, live music, drawing contests, and costumes, costumes, costumes. Cosplaying is a big deal at MegaCon, and there will be contests and how-to panels to prove it. Bring your camera, and please be polite.
And Mini-MegaCon will be continuing their tradition of showcasing independent films, showing a wide range of action, animation, anime, comedy, super-heroes, science fiction, suspense, and horror films and giving hopeful creators a chance to talk to the filmmakers themselves.
Why do a second con? “Attendees and vendors have been asking us to add a summer show for the past five years,” said Christine Alger, MegaCon’s assistant director. “The decision to hold this summer show was made two years ago before the downturn in the economy. Since we had already committed to many people we decided to go ahead with the show.
“We heard from some vendors that people weren’t spending as much money, but I do think people like the inexpensive diversion. Where else can you go for the whole day for $20?”
Mini-MegaCon will be at the Orange County Convention Center, 9899 International Drive, Orlando, on Saturday from 10-7 and Sunday from 10 to 5. Tickets will be $22 for Saturday, $19 for Sunday, or $36 for all weekend, available at the door or at any Coliseum of Comics location.
Hello everyone,
I have added screen captures from four episodes of Angel season four. I’m sorry for the lack of photo gallery updates lately, I promise that will change! In the meantime, enjoy the latest screen captures. The gallery contains over 16,000 images all featuring Charisma, and is constantly growing!
Melanie Light, the production designer for Vivid, sat down with IndieFlicks to discuss her work. The article is a nice insight into the role of a production designer and contains some minor details about scenes in the movie.
We had one day off whilst shooting at Shapwick – I did my laundry and caught up on tidying up the art department and finishing off little bits of work for the last weeks shoot. I do remember that evening having Charisma Carpenter and some of the make-up girls all hanging out in my room being girly in PJs. I sat and thought, ‘This is cool, I’m hanging out with the chick from Buffy and Angel’. Little moments like these are always rewarding for your hard work. When people make little comments that flatter your work, or for instance when the steadicam guy thought my fake bathroom was real and went wandering in looking for a toilet!
Sandra Bullock has rubbished rumours that she was ever going to appear in Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables. The Speed actress was previously linked to the project, but denied having any contact with Stallone about the film.
“I don’t know where that came from,” she told Empire. “I never read the script, I didn’t even know what the script was about. But now that I know what it’s about, I’m excited for him.”
However, Bullock admitted that she would love to return to working on action movies. “Absolutely, but finding a good one is not easy,” she said.
The Expendables will follow the story of a group of mercenaries tasked with overthrowing a South American dictator. Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Charisma Carpenter, Mickey Rourke, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Arnold Schwarzenegger are among the cast.
